FEATURED GAME CHANGER:
De’Shawn Hicks
LaRosa’s has been a proud supporter of high school sports in Cincinnati for decades. Now, we’re taking that tradition even further with the LaRosa’s Game Changers Program – recognizing high school sports MVPs who go beyond the scoreboard.
INTRODUCING OUR NEXT LAROSA FAMILY FOUNDATION GAME CHANGER MVP: DE’SHAWN HICKS!
De’Shawn Hicks is defined by resilience, leadership, and heart. A standout tight end for the St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Titans, De’Shawn turned adversity into opportunity after an injury sidelined him during his junior season.
Rather than letting the setback slow him down, De’Shawn committed fully to his rehabilitation—embracing the grind and emerging stronger than ever. Through relentless effort, he transformed his body, adding 40 pounds of muscle, and returned to the field as a senior captain and leader. His work ethic and positive attitude set the standard for his teammates, both in practice and on game day.
According to St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Athletic Director Kevin Porter, De’Shawn’s impact reaches far beyond football. His leadership, accountability, and perseverance make him the type of student-athlete younger players look up to and strive to emulate.
Off the field, De’Shawn excels in the classroom, taking multiple College Credit Plus courses that will earn him dual credit at graduation. His commitment to academics and personal growth reflects the values celebrated by the LaRosa Family Foundation Game Changers program—proving that true success is built through dedication, resilience, and character.
